Description
by Elizabeth Ann French
Something is stirring at Christmastime in Las Vegas, where magic can’t be ruled out. This time of year fills our minds, our hearts, and, at times, our inkwells. This story is about Harry Miser, a compulsive gambler who, after a tragic accident, must come to terms with his recklessness in his relationship with his younger brother.
He is challenged to learn the true meaning of generosity, family, and the holiday spirit, which begins to transform him through their redeeming qualities. There is a special place in all our lives, where good deeds are held and where rewards are granted.
Charles Dickens reminded us in A Christmas Carol, written in 1843, “No one is useless in this world that can’t lighten the burden of another.” It was true then, as much as it is today. So let’s travel along with Harry Miser and see if the joy of the season rings true for him.
